Peter Jago x Mimco

31 Aug

I think a spirit of collaboration gets you a long way in the fashion industry. So when I heard that two of the labels in our Spring Fashion Runway had joined forces on a very special project I had to share it. Internationally renowned milliner Peter Jago has developed a VERY limited edition line of headwear pieces for Mimco. The special hat designs created for the range start at $399 which is a bargain for a Peter Jago piece.

An interesting insight into Mimco’s creative process; “each Mimco product comes from a set of stories that are communicated prior to season development, penned by our Creative and Commercial Director Cathryn Wills.” Apparently Peter Jago jumped at the chance to work with the accessories brand as their aesthetic and approach to design is quite similar.

This could be the start of a beautiful friendship!

You can see Mimco and Peter Jago, along with a plethora of other local labels, on the catwalk at our Spring Fashion Runway. For further details or to book  simply click here

Fast 5 with Craig Braybrook

30 Aug

He can’t reveal all just yet but I’ve been very excited over the past couple of days as confirmation came through that our very own Craig Braybrook has made it to the finale of Project Runway Australia! As you know our very own “Runway Project” is happening this Thursday evening and we’re happy to have some of Craig’s designs sashaying down the catwalk (alongside past Project Runway graduate Lui Hon no less). I managed to prize open the designer’s lips momentarily for a few fast questions:

In a single word can you describe your Project Runway experience?

Ooh, which way do I want to go? …AMAZING!

As a more experienced designer, with an already established label, what made you enter Project Runway Australia?

I like being challenged and I’m really competitive.

What will you personally be wearing this Spring?

I like checks…and colour. I love red!

Apart from finishing up Project Runway, what’s up next for you as a designer?

I’m entered in the designer competitions at Flemington’s Spring races.

P.S. Check out Craig Braybrook & fellow designer Lisa Barron in today’s Stonnington Leader – he does love red!
